Services

Grantley Fire and EMS is proud to offer the community of Spring Garden Township and the greater York City area basic and advanced life support services. Is there a difference between these services? Yes.

Basic Life Support care requires medical monitoring by a licensed EMT-Intermediate and may include monitoring vital signs, oxygen and IV therapy. The BLS Ambulance is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment including an automatic external defibrillator, blood pressure monitoring equipment, pulse oximetry and oxygen delivery devices.

Advanced Life Support care requires medical monitoring and care by a licensed EMT-Paramedic and may include monitoring vital signs, advanced drug therapy, cardiac monitoring, oxygen and IV therapy. Our MICU (Mobile Intensive Care Unit) ambulance is equipped with state-of-the-art heart and blood pressure monitoring equipment, pulse oximetry, oxygen delivery devices including a CPAP as well as advanced medications used to treat a variety of illnesses and provide pain relief. The MICU with ALS staff are also vital in the fast, life-saving care of trauma patients in our serve area.

Through the generous contributions by the members of the communities served by Grantley Fire & EMS, we offer a staffed BLS unit stationed at YAUFR Station 89-4 (Victory Fire Dept. next to Memorial Hospital in York, PA) and two additional ambulances at our main station in Spring Garden Township next to York College of Pennsylvania. In addition, we have a Chevy Blazer that allows for transport of personnel to incident scenes when additonal manpower is required.

Our EMS services are managed by career staff and governed by a medical director including both career and volunteer members who also serve as officers with the fire department.
